2023 Total and 2024 Hybrid Solar Eclipses Visible in the US
NASA scientists released an interactive map charting the path of the 2023 and 2024 solar eclipses, allowing viewers to witness these celestial events from anywhere in the world.
2023 Total Solar Eclipse
On October 14, 2023, a total solar eclipse will be visible across North and South America, with the path of totality cutting through Mexico, the United States, and Canada. The full eclipse will be visible in Texas, Oregon, Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, and Maine. The map provides local times and average weather conditions for each location, allowing viewers to plan their eclipse-viewing experience.
2024 Total Solar Eclipse
The second eclipse will occur on April 8, 2024, and will be a total solar eclipse that will pass over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. Known as the "Great North American Eclipse," this eclipse will be visible in western Mexico, across the entire United States, and eastern Canada. Like the 2023 eclipse, the map provides local times and average weather conditions for each location.
